Momentum Summit III

Registration is closed for this event

On January 28 and 29, the University System of Georgia will host the Momentum Summit III at the Classic Center at the University of Georgia in Athens. The objective of the event is for institutional teams to reflect upon their experiences in implementing the Momentum principles in order to:

  • Maintain and sustain successfully implemented strategies, determine areas in need of improvement, and identify strategies yet to be developed to ensure that the Momentum Year is a coherent experience for all students, and
  • Identify strategies consistent with the Momentum Approach framework that can support students as they move beyond their first year or which extend beyond their academic journey.

The summit will take place from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Tuesday, January 28 and from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm on Wednesday, January 29.  A preliminary agenda is availalble here.

Getting Ready

In advance of the Summit, institutions will be asked to engage in a targeted self-reflection process to help them understand what their priority areas of work are for the event and to identify the members of the institutional team who will take part in the Summit. The results of these institutional self-reflections will inform the development of the Summit agenda, ensuring that the program fully supports institutional teams as they develop and refine their plans for Momentum on their campuses. A self-reflection tool to help in this work will be available from the System Office.

Who should attend?

Institutions are invited to bring teams of up to 15 to the Summit. Core team members from each institution should include the President, Chief Business Officer, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Vice President for Student Affairs, Vice Presidents of Enrollment Management, and faculty representation.  The balance of the team should be comprised of individuals who have key roles to play in supporting the work identified in the self-reflection as priorities for the year ahead. Institutions interested in bringing larger teams should contact Jonathan Watts Hull directly.
