USG Nursing Workforce Summit 2026

The University System of Georgia will be hosting a Nursing Workforce Summit with the purpose to convene key stakeholders to assess the nursing workforce crisis, identify systemic barriers, and co-create actionable strategies that address recruitment, education, and retention challenges across Georgia’s healthcare system.

The event will be held on March 16, 2026 at Middle Georgia State University from 8:00am-4:00pm. There will be at least two virtual meetings prior to the event to allow for pre-work to be completed. The intention of this initiative is to have a real discussion about nursing workforce and find optimal solutions that are sustainable. Invitations are going to industry leaders, academic institutions, professional organizations, and students/recent graduates.

There is no fee to attend. Parking is free. A small continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. Please reach out to Shawn Little, AVC of Healthcare with the University System of Georgia for any questions.
