USG Nursing Workforce Summit 2026

The University System of Georgia will be hosting a Nursing Workforce Summit with the purpose to convene key stakeholders to assess the nursing workforce crisis, identify systemic barriers, and co-create actionable strategies that address recruitment, education, and retention challenges across Georgia’s healthcare system.


The event will be held on March 16, 2026 at the Hatcher Conference Center on the campuse of Middle Georgia State University from 8:00am-4:00pm. The goal of the summit is to develop a sustainable and comprehensive nursing workforce strategy for Georgia.

The purpose of the summit is to:

  • Convene key stakeholders to assess the nursing workforce crisis,
  • Identify systemic barriers
  • Co-create actionable strategies that address recruitment, education, and retention challenges.

In addition to the live event, there will be one pre-read document and a one-hour pre-event virtual meeting to help prepare participants for the discussion during the summit. There are two options for the pre-event virtual meeting. Registration is required using the links below.
