Strategy/Project Name:
Data-Informed Planning
Momentum Area:
Pathways
Data & Communications
Category:
Strategy/Project Description:

Provide more data and direction to department chairs and deans regarding student course needs.

Activity Status:
Evaluation/Assessment plan:

Evaluation Plan and measures: Currently revising assessment plan by creating schedule and setting general expectations and outcomes.

Baseline measure: Number of Chairs and College Leadership teams participating.

Goal or targets: 100% engagement for 50% of offered live training or opportunities.

Time period/duration: Each term/academic year.

Progress and Adjustments:

We’ve have created a single-stop D2L course site as a training and workshop repository for Ad Astra Scheduler and Monitor, Align, and Predict (MAP), METRICS, EAB Navigate, BANNER, SAP, and Pyramid . We rebuilt the schedule to focus on tailored workshops based on need/desire as well as regular best-practice training.  Deans, Associate Deans, and Chairs all have first-hand access to appropriate data sources and dashboards through a single landing page.

Plan for the Year Ahead:

We will continue with the set practice. Ahead of each term we run a leadership-wide training day for Academic Affairs that provides workshops and development opportunities for our data sources. This builds on the Summer 1-1 meetings that the Associate Provost held with all Chairs on data utilization and planning, as well as specific Fall workshops on METRICS and Pyramid. Spring will focus on MAP and Navigate.
