High Impact Practices Vanguard Institution Convening

The University System of Georgia invites teams of five from your campus High Impact Practices leadership team to attend the 2019 Equity HIPs meeting of Vanguard Institutions on Wednesday September 18, 2019 from 9:00 - 4:30 pm in the 7th floor boardroom of the University System of Georgia at the Trinity-Washington Building, 270 Washington Street SW, Atlanta, GA, 30334.

Please register your team of five campus representatives by September 13, 2019.

Meeting Objectives:
  • Understand how HIPs initiative integrates into the USG Momentum Approach strategy.
  • Knowledge generation and sharing among vanguard institutions on key areas of expertise and relevance to the HIPs initiative.
  • Showcase learning modules featuring knowledge generated across campuses and states engage in the NASH HIPs initiative.  
  • Present and receive feedback on the USG HIPs taxonomy tool for facilitating development and evaluation of HIPs activities on campuses.
  • Discuss efforts to code HIPs activities in Banner.
  • Update institutions on the end of the project and campus mini-grants

If your campus is interested in being featured in a spotlight session, please submit a short description of your proposed session to include the session topic, the key takeaways you intend to communicate during the session, and the format of your session to include your audio visual needs (powerpoint, video, audio).  The presentation will be no more than 15 minutes, followed by 30 minutes of discussion among the representatives from the six Vanguard institutions.   

Special consideration will be given to proposals that showcase campus efforts on the following topics:

  • Creating greater equity in the access, outcomes and content of HIPs
  • Design and delivery of professional development to faculty and staff
  • Scaling of HIPs campus-wide.

Proposals and presentations should provide some evidence that their efforts have resulted in high quality student engagement and learning.
