2025 Fall Virtual Coreq Academy

The University System of Georgia will host a two-part (not just one!) Virtual Corequisite Academy on Friday, September 19 (part I) and Friday October 3 (part II), from 10 to noon.

The meetings will be held virtually and are open to all; you are welcome to attend either or both sessions. Meeting links will be emailed out in advance of the sessions, but you must register to receive the links.

These workshops will provide an opportunity for faculty, staff and administrators to:

  • understand the current state of Corequisite Learning Support in Georgia;
  • share their experiences and insights with peers;
  • engage in cross-disciplinary conversations about success in the corequisite classroom;
  • discuss new research shedding light on how to improve student success in co-req classes (e.g., GenAI, integrated reading and writing, mindset and belonging).

The agenda for the September 19 session will include a status update on Learning Support, including outcomes and recent updates to exemption thresholds; an overview of emerging practices for corequisite instruction and an opportunity to discuss classroom strategies and promising practices with peers in your discipline or area.  Plus, since there is so much going on within and beyond the USG with Learning Support innovation, we’ll reconvene on October 3 to hear findings from outside Georgia as well engage in cross-disciplinary conversations among peers.
